How often do you wake up with a song in your thoughts and a
praise in your heart?
I went through a dark period in June of 2011 and I knew the
only way I would survive it was by praying and asking God to put a song in my
heart upon wakening each morning.
Singing or listening to praise songs throughout the day
enables me to feel God’s Presence enveloping me. And He was faithful… He carried me through…
He is always faithful!
As I awoke and the song was in my thoughts, I would write verse and chorus in my journal. In Joshua 4, after the Israelites had crossed the Jordan river, the Lord told Joshua to have a man from each of the twelve tribes place a memorial stone in their camp as a reminder of how God had brought them through. The rocks would remain there so future generations would also know of God’s goodness and His protective Hand over His people. My journal represents one of the many stones in my Rock collection… just one way God chose to restore wholeness to me through Spirit-penned melodies.
